While Spot is adorable and provides endless entertainment and cuddles, he needs health check-ups and access to health services as much as humans do. And just like human healthcare, Spot’s appointments and emergencies can get expensive. Accidents, unexpected illness, and even routine exams add up. Pet insurance can provide reimbursements for Spot’s medical costs, allowing you to focus on helping him stay healthy for years of best friendship down the road.

What is Figo pet insurance?
Glad you asked. In essence, pet insurance offers reimbursement for some of your dog’s and/or cat’s medical expenses. With Figo pet insurance, you can see any licensed vet, animal specialist and ER in the United States and worldwide. When your pet is treated for illness or an injury, you then submit the vet bill (a simple picture of the receipt on your phone will do) through the Figo Pet Cloud mobile app, and reimbursement is provided within an average of seven days.
Some of the things covered by Figo Wellness Plans (these are partial lists as examples):
- Common illnesses – arthritis, dental disease, urinary problems, and loss of appetite, vomiting or diarrhea
- Accidents and emergencies – an attack by another animal, poisoning or accidental ingestion of harmful substance, serious health conditions like pancreatitis, broken bones, allergic reactions
- Wellness and preventive care – spay/neuter, vaccines, routine exams, dental
- Chronic conditions – allergies, arthritis, diabetes, obesity
- Hereditary and congenital disorders – heart anomalies, hip dysplasia, patella luxation, polycystic kidney disease, progressive retinal atrophy
- Cancer – melanoma, lymphoma, osteosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma, mammary cancer, lipoma
Figo does not cover most pre-existing conditions, but if a pre-existing condition is curable, it may also be covered. Unheard of!
The Figo Pet Cloud mobile app takes pet insurance to the next level!
The mobile app is awesome for anytime access to Spot’s pet records, reminders of Spot’s upcoming appointments and finding pet-friendly businesses where Spot is allowed to join you for outings. You’re welcome, Spot!
The mobile app makes submitting bills for reimbursement super simple. Figo states that most of their claims close in just 2.6 working days. And if you’re antsy to track your claim throughout the process, you can do so right within the app!
The app also offers Telehealth with every single insurance policy. You can get connected by text with a licensed veterinary professional whenever, wherever you are.
